Valerie Andrews is a Guatemalan actor, producer, and writer based in Glasgow. She holds an MA in Acting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is the founder of Lucky Cat Productions, originally established in Guatemala.
Her work spans both stage and film, with notable acting credits including Nerissa in El Mercader de Venecia, Cassio in Otelo, and Franciszka in Noche Árabe, and as executive producer in Sarro, her first short—all produced in Guatemala. Since moving to the UK, she has produced multiple theatre productions in London and Glasgow and a short film she produced called Faithful, which premieres in March 2025 . She’s excited to work with the same team again to film their newest short, Death, Whatever, also set to shoot in March.
One of her main objectives with her projects is to carve out space for underrepresented voices. As an immigrant, she remains a passionate advocate for greater representation in theatre and film, especially for the Latinx community.
