March 2019, Guatemala City
This project was born because one of our favorite plays is The Merchant of Venice. Paired with Guillermo Ramírez Valenzuela, one of Guatemala’s most accomplished directors, they took over an outer space in Guatemala’s National Theatre.
Using the architecture and design by Efraín Recinos for the National Theatre, the audience enjoyed the performance under the lights of the stars. The cast included emerging actor and very established ones as way to merge the two generations of Guatemalan theatre.
